Greed Undermines Everything

WASHINGTON — Private security guards paid little more than janitors and restaurant cooks are guarding many of the critical security sites in the United States, usually with minimal or no anti-terrorist training, an Associated Press investigation found. The nation's security industry found itself involuntarily transformed after Sept. 11, 2001, from an army of "rent-a-cops" to protectors of the homeland. But cutthroat competition by security firms trying to win contracts with low bids has kept wages low and high-level training non-existent. The industry is governed by a maze of conflicting state rules, according to a nationwide survey by the AP. Wide chasms exist among states in requirements for training and background checks. Tens of thousands of guard applicants were found to have criminal backgrounds.
  • JJ Commentary: Greed undermines everything. As we chase after the lowest possible price, we receive the lowest possible quality. And who’s to blame? We are. The government merely reflects society’s predilections.

Intolerant Tolerance

Scotland's University of Edinburgh, after proposing a ban on Bibles and denying a Christian campus group the right to hold a conference on the immorality of homosexuality, has extended the welcome mat to the school's Pagan Society to hold its annual meeting on campus next month. The pagan conference will feature presentations on a variety of topics, including Magic and Witchcraft in the 21st Century, Pagan Parenting, Pagan Marriage, Pagan Symbolism and Practice and Ancient Greek magic. A workshop in tribal dance will be held at the university Student's Association.
  • JJ Commentary: As usual, everything but Christianity is tolerated in this age of tolerance.

Useless Dialogue

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — U.S. sanctions against Iran have caused damage to the country's economy, Iranian business leaders and analysts say, even as the U.N. Security Council prepares to consider additional measures to force Iran to curb its nuclear program. The U.N.'s nuclear watchdog issued a report Wednesday that sets the stage for new Security Council sanctions. A first set of limited U.N. sanctions imposed last March were focused on companies involved in the nuclear program. But unilateral actions that the United States has taken in recent months have been broader, attempting to block dollar transactions into and out of Iran and targeting energy firms and financial activity.

The U.S. measures are driving up prices in Iran while increasing business costs and making it tougher for Iran to import ordinary goods, businessmen and analysts said this week. "The sanctions imposed by the U.S., especially in the past year, have been more harmful than we expected," said Saeed Laylaz, a prominent political and economic analyst in Tehran. "The main impact is that all of our imported goods have become more expensive."

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Thursday to push ahead with Iran's nuclear activities, saying the West is trying to stop the program to prevent Iran from emerging as a world power. The head of the U.N. nuclear agency, meanwhile, said he agreed with CIA estimates that Iran was three to eight years from being able to make nuclear arms. International Atomic Energy Agency head Mohamed ElBaradei urged the United States and other U.N. Security Council members to abandon "rhetoric" in the standoff with Iran and pursue dialogue, saying it was the best way to keep the country from acquiring nuclear weapons.
  • JJ Commentary: Are you kidding me? Dialogue with the Muslim hardliners yields only lies and delays. Rhetoric doesn’t help either. Sanctions help some, but the Islamo-fascists will do anything to further their plan to wipe Israel from the face of the earth – and then attempt to take over the rest of the earth.

Emergency Excuses for Power Grab

President Bush has signed a directive granting extraordinary powers to the office of the president in the event of a declared national emergency, apparently without congressional approval or oversight. The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive" was signed May 9. It was issued with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive.

The directive establishes under the office of the president a new national continuity coordinator whose job is to make plans for "National Essential Functions" of all federal, state, local, territorial and tribal governments, as well as private sector organizations to continue functioning under the president's directives in the event of a national emergency. "Catastrophic emergency" is loosely defined as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions."
  • JJ Commentary: Another step to broaden Presidential authority without Congressional assent, which leads inexorably to the establishment of dictatorial power rising out of such “emergencies.” Welcome to the coming police state.

North American Subterfuge

WASHINGTON – A powerful think tank chaired by former Sen. Sam Nunn and guided by trustees including Richard Armitage, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Harold Brown, William Cohen and Henry Kissinger, is in the final stages of preparing a report to the White House and U.S. Congress on the benefits of integrating the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one political, economic and security bloc. The final report, published in English, Spanish and French, is scheduled for submission to all three governments by Sept. 30, according to the Center for Strategic & International Studies. CSIS boasts of playing a large role in the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994 – a treaty that set in motion a political movement many believe resembles the early stages of the European Community on its way to becoming the European Union.

The controversial "Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007," which would grant millions of illegal aliens the right to stay in the U.S. under certain conditions, contains provisions for the acceleration of the Security and Prosperity Partnership, a plan for North American economic and defense integration with remarkable similarities to the CSIS plan. The bill, as worked out by Senate and White House negotiators, cites the SPP agreement signed by President Bush and his counterparts in Mexico and Canada March 23, 2005 – an agreement that has been criticized as a blueprint for building a European Union-style merger of the three countries of North America.

Last Monday, Bank of Canada Gov. David Dodge told the Chicago Council on Global Affairs that North America could one day move toward a euro-style currency. Dodge's comments add to a growing list of comments from Canadian economists, academics and government officials supporting the idea of creating the amero as a North American common currency
  • JJ Commentary: Make no mistake, the North American Union is coming as part of the blueprint for the one-world government desired by the New World (Dis)Order and prophesied by the Bible.

A Promiscuous Society

WASHINGTON — Congressional Democrats say they will pull the plug on abstinence-only sex education when a $50 million grant expires on June 30, a move sparking outrage among social conservative groups. Democrats would still include money for abstinence teachings in schools, but would combine it with comprehensive sex-ed programs that would teach about birth control and other safe sex methods. States currently pay for abstinence-only education in public schools by matching $3 for every $4 they receive from the federal government. Congress initially approved the Title V funding as part of welfare reform.

Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said Wednesday that the decision to stop funding for the program wasn't difficult at all. "Abstinence-only education seems to be a colossal failure," Dingell said, according to the Associated Press. Dingell backed that statement with a recent study by Mathematica Policy Research Inc. that showed students in four abstinence-only education programs were equally likely to have sex at the same age as those not in abstinence programs. "With all we know about how to prevent teen pregnancy and reduce sexually transmitted diseases, it is high time to redirect the millions of federal dollars that we squander every year on abstinence-only education to programs that actually work," said Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo.
  • JJ Commentary: No program to reduce teenage sexuality will work within a culture that glorifies sexuality by promoting it in heavily in movies, TV, magazines, advertisements, et. al. We need to change the cultural mindset first before such programs would have any tangible result.

Feeding Filth in our Schools

A 12-year-old girl who says she was traumatized when her teacher showed the film "Brokeback Mountain" featuring love scenes with homosexual cowboys is suing the Chicago Board of Education for $500,000. According to reports, the student, Jessica Turner, claims she suffered psychological distress after watching the movie, which stars Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal as two cowboys who fall in love and includes love scenes between the two men and between the men and their wives. The suit names Ashburn Principal Jewel Diaz and the substitute teacher, known only in the complaint as Ms. Buford, as well as the board, and alleges negligence, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Buford showed the video without permission from parents and guardians.
  • JJ Commentary: Bad enough showing highly sexualized films to 12-year olds, but even more so one promoting homosexuality. Our schools have become brainwashing centers for the secular agenda of the New World (Dis)Order.

Intolerant Truth

While some evangelical Christians are defending the presidential candidacy of Mormon Mitt Romney from an attack by Al Sharpton, another prominent pastor is going further in his condemnation – saying a vote for the former Massachusetts governor is a vote for Satan. That's the word from Bill Keller, host of the Florida-based Live Prayer TV program as well as LivePrayer.com. "If you vote for Mitt Romney, you are voting for Satan!" he writes in his daily devotional sent out to 2.4 million e-mail subscribers Saturday. Sharpton, the Democratic Party activist and former presidential candidate, has been widely condemned for singling out Romney's faith as an issue in the campaign.

"This message today is not about Mitt Romney," he writes. "Romney is an unashamed and proud member of the Mormon cult founded by a murdering polygamist pedophile named Joseph Smith nearly 200 years ago. The teachings of the Mormon cult are doctrinally and theologically in complete opposition to the Absolute Truth of God's Word. There is no common ground. If Mormonism is true, then the Christian faith is a complete lie. There has never been any question from the moment Smith's cult began that it was a work of Satan and those who follow their false teachings will die and spend eternity in hell."
  • JJ Commentary: Keller speaks the truth, intolerant as it might seem. But that’s the way absolute truth is – it is intolerant of lies, deceptions and blasphemy.

The Profit-Driven Life

Mega-pastor Rick Warren is being challenged by other Christian leaders for not disciplining a prominent member of his California Saddleback Church flock for being one of the world's leading pornographers. That would be Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp., which, in addition to building a media empire on the chests of topless models and edgy, pushing-the-envelope Fox TV network shows, recently began building a stable of hard-core porn channels for its BSkyB subsidiary.

"Rupert Murdoch is a born-again Christian and Rick Warren claims to be his pastor," says Chris Rosebrough, head of the Christian Accountability Network. "As a Christian, Murdoch is committing an egregious sin by owning, expanding and profiting from pornographic channels, and Rick Warren, his pastor, has a biblical duty to call Murdoch to repentance and/or put him out of the church." He is supported in that call by Jim Lupacchino of the Christian Research Network, Pastor Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries, and a growing list of others who have the Internet buzzing with stories about the pastor and the porn purveyor.

The ties between Warren and Murdoch go beyond the spiritual. Murdoch also owns Zondervan, the company that published Warren's explosive bestseller "The Purpose Driven Life." "We hope that Warren's business ties to Murdoch's company haven't clouded his judgment and impacted his resolve to carry out his biblical duty as Murdoch's pastor," added Rosebrough.
  • JJ Commentary: With Rick Warren’s recent statements about Islam and Syria, then lying about his membership in the Council on Foreign Relations (a key New World [Dis]Order organization), it would appear that he has many ties to the wrong people and anti-Christ positions.

Courtroom Blasphemy

If North Carolina is going to let people use a religious text when taking an oath in court, the Bible should not be the only book allowed, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union argued in court Tuesday. A lawsuit filed by the ACLU of North Carolina challenges a state policy that allows only the Bible to be used in such court procedures. “If the state is going to get into the religious oath business, the state has to be fair,” said Seth Cohen, the ACLU's lead counsel on the case. But an attorney from the state Attorney General's Office urged Wake County Superior Court Judge Paul Ridgeway to dismiss the case. The lawsuit was filed in July 2005 on behalf of Syidah Mateen, a Muslim woman who said she was denied the use of the Quran in court. The lawsuit argues that state law is unconstitutional because it favors Christianity over other religions.
  • JJ Commentary: God isn’t “fair” nor is He “inclusive” or “tolerant.” To honor a false god, whether it be Allah, Buddha or Gaia, is blasphemous. This was and is supposed to be a Christian country. If you don’t like it, move

One-World Currency

The director of international economics at the Council of Foreign Relations has launched a scathing attack on sovereignty and national currencies. Benn Steil, writing in the current issue of CFR's influential Foreign Affairs magazine, says "the world needs to abandon unwanted currencies, replacing them with dollars, euros, and multinational currencies as yet unborn." In the article, "The End of National Currency," Steil clearly asserts the dollar and the euro are temporary currencies, perhaps necessary today. He argues "economic development outside the process of globalization is no longer possible." His inevitable conclusion is "countries should abandon monetary nationalism."

Steil concludes "the foreign [bankers], with their massive and growing holdings of dollar debt" no longer feel "wealthy and secure" in the economic environment of a resultant falling dollar. The inevitable conclusion is that the dollar, too, may be on the way out.
  • JJ Commentary: The drumbeat of the march to one-world government gets louder and louder.

North American Integration Training

A group supporting North American integration is preparing to hold its annual "North American Model Parliament" for students from the United States, Canada and Mexico. The North American Forum on Integration, or NAFI, is scheduled to hold "Triumvirate," in Washington, D.C., May 20–25. NAFI, according to the group's website, is as a non-profit organization based in Montreal, dedicated to "address the issues raised by North American integration as well as identify new ideas and strategies to reinforce the North American region."

The group's support of North American integration is documented by an objective listed to "identify the elements of the North American agenda which would allow the consolidation and reinforcement of the North American region." Qualifying students are undergraduates or graduate students who have "an interest in North American integration" and are bilingual among English, French and Spanish.
  • JJ Commentary: Kaboom, kaboom. Louder and louder. Can the Beast be far behind?

Bush Marches Lock-Step

President Bush signed an agreement creating a "permanent body" that commits the U.S. to "deeper transatlantic economic integration," without ratification by the Senate as a treaty or passage by Congress as a law. The "Transatlantic Economic Integration" between the U.S. and the European Union was signed April 30 at the White House by Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel – the current president of the European Council – and European Commission President José Manuel Barroso.

The document acknowledges "the transatlantic economy remains at the forefront of globalization," arguing that the U.S. and the European Union "seek to strengthen transatlantic economic integration." The agreement established a new Transatlantic Economic Council to be chaired on the U.S. side by a cabinet-level officer in the White House and on the EU side by a member of the European Commission. The current U.S. head of the new Transatlantic Economic Council is Allan Hubbard, assistant to the president for Economic Policy and director of the National Economic Council.

The Transatlantic Economic Council was tasked with creating regulatory convergence between the U.S. and the EU on some 40 different public policy areas, including intellectual property rights, developing security standards for international trade, getting U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices) recognized in Europe, developing innovation and technology in health industries, implementing RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technologies, developing a science-based plan on bio-based products and establishing a "regular dialogue" to address obstacles to investment.
  • JJ Commentary: Unfortunately, President Bush continues to march lock-step to the drum of the New World (Dis)Order and their end-time plan for a one-world government.

School Indoctrination

Exodus, according to the dictionary, is "a going out, departure or emigration," or "the departure of the Israelites from Egypt under Moses." Now there are Christian leaders who would like to add another definition: "The mass departure of Christians from the public school system." Chaplain E. Ray Moore of Exodus Mandate, whose goal is to "encourage and assist Christian families to leave Pharoah's school system," said there's an urgent need Christian parents must understand. "Based on statistics, there is a 70-to-80 percent chance that a [Christian] child will abandon the church and their faith in a public school career," Moore said.

"We think probably 75 percent of the Christian churches could provide, and have the financial resources to provide, a Christian education for children, if they saw it as a necessity," said Moore, who has endorsed a move building among Southern Baptist churches to do just that. Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, has called on Southern Baptist churches to expand into K-12 education, making it available for families whether they can pay a private tuition or not.
  • JJ Commentary: The religion of Secular Humanism is taught and virtually brainwashed into our children in the public school system. Tolerance, gay rights, abortion, evolution, etc. are all promoted within the public schools. There is only one answer and that is to remove our children from this indoctrination program.

Highway to the North American Union

A battle between Texas and the Bush administration is brewing over construction of the Trans-Texas Corridor after the state legislature passed a two-year moratorium. The Texas House passed HB1892 Wednesday after the Senate last week approved an earlier version of the moratorium on a project some critics see as part of a "NAFTA superhighway" system and ties with Canada and Mexico that threaten U.S. sovereignty. The bill has been sent to Gov. Rick Perry for signature by May 14, but it passed with veto-proof margins of 27-4 in the Senate and 139-1 in the House. The Bush administration appears determined to fight the moratorium.

FHWA Chief Counsel James D. Ray wrote a four-page letter to Michael Behrens, executive director of the Texas Department of Transportation, threatening the loss of federal highway funds if the legislature were to pass a two-year moratorium of the public-private partnership financed by Cintra, an investment consortium in Spain. TTC-35, the nation's first NAFTA superhighway, is a four-football-field wide car-truck-train-pipeline toll road the Texas Department of Transportation plans to build parallel to Interstate 35 from Laredo, Texas, to the Texas-Oklahoma border south of Oklahoma City.
  • JJ Commentary: This is a key part of the New World (Dis)Order strategy to create a North American Union similar to the European Union.

Free Trade Comes at a Price

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush called on Congress Wednesday to approve a free-trade agreement with Colombia, saying "it is very important for this nation to stand with democracies." Standing on the White House lawn with visiting Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, Bush called the pact with Colombia, Peru and Panama "good for the United States, good for job creators, farmers, workers, good for Colombia."
  • JJ Commentary: The one definitive result of free-trade agreements has been the worsening of America’s trade deficit and a dangerous outflow of U.S. dollars into foreign hands. This also is a New World (Dis)Order strategy to weaken the one remaining superpower.

Bush's Roots Exposed

A presidential proclamation in honor of the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, Va., whose settlers were dispatched from England with the primary goal of furthering the Christian faith, doesn't mention Christianity"America looks to our leaders in moments of historic importance to remind us of our foundations as a free people. Historically American presidents have taken the opportunity of the celebration of Jamestown to point out that this experiment in liberty was first dedicated to God," said Doug Phillips. He is president of Vision Forum Ministries and the founder of the Jamestown Quadricentennial: A Celebration of America's Providential History, Vision Forum's own series of events to celebrate the quadricentennial June 11-16.

"On the other hand, the absence of any direct reference to God or Christianity is deeply troubling. It's troubling because none of these things make sense at all apart from the context, and the context was a nation birthed by individuals who sought to bring the Gospel, the Bible and a Christian law order to North America," Phillips said.
  • JJ Commentary: Although President Bush appears to be a devout Christian and was elected in 2004 because of his pro-Christian values, he has repeated missed opportunities to support this country’s Christian roots. He aligns himself much more closely to the secular, globalist agenda of the New World (Dis)Order
