Christianity Under Attack

A lifetime ban on public criticism of homosexuality was upheld against a Catholic activist in Canada by his province's superior court. Bill Whatcott was fined 17,500 Canadian dollars by the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission in a complaint by four homosexuals who charged he "injured" their "feelings" and "self respect" in pamphlets denouncing the "gay lifestyle" as immoral and dangerous, Lifesite News reported. "This fine is for telling the truth [that] homosexual sodomites can change their behavior and be set free from their sin and depravity through the forgiveness of sins and shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," Whatcott said.

Church shootings, in the headlines because of the attacks by Matthew Murray, 24, of Englewood, Colo., on two Christian groups last weekend, are on the rise across the United States, even though they're not yet at epidemic proportions. Murray killed two people at a Youth With A Mission missionary training center in Arvada, Colo., early last Sunday morning, then apparently posted some rantings on the Internet, and drove to the New Life Church in Colorado Springs where he killed two teen girls. He also wounded half a dozen others before he was confronted by a church member volunteering as a security guard, and was shot.

A tabulation of church shootings, or those closely related to a church setting, was done by Gary Cass, chairman of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission, and include 10 such attacks over the last four years, including Murray's two attacks. "The tragic events in Colorado this past weekend underscore the fact that anti-Christian hostility is reaching a new, more violent level," Cass told WND. "Churches used to be sanctuaries that were regarded as sacred, now all church leaders must be prepared to effectively defend themselves and use deadly force if necessary to protect their congregations from violent acts."

Weeks before Matthew Murray armed himself with enough weaponry and ammunition to kill hundreds, attacking both a Christian missions training center and a Colorado Springs church, he apparently boasted in an e-mail that he had discovered and practiced the teachings of controversial British occultist Aleister Crowley, called during his lifetime "the wickedest man in the world." "I have since joined freemasonry and found, studied and practiced the teachings of Aleister Crowley/Thelema/The Golden Dawn, Qabbalah, H.P. Blavatsky/Theosophy, Manly P. Hall, Alice Bailey, and others," the writer told Pastor Joe Schimmel.

World Net Daily reported at the time on the disturbing rantings Murray apparently left on several websites before – and even between – the attacks, including those reported by National Terror Alert, which documented a series of postings by "nghtmrchld26," which said, "You Christians brought this on yourselves … All I want to do is kill and injure as many of you ... as I can especially Christians who are to blame for most of the problems in the world."
  • JJ Commentary: This is the kind of Christian persecution that is ramping up as the end-times wind down. Expect to see more and more of it.

Al-Qaeda Unappeased

CAIRO (AP) — Al-Qaeda's No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri said in a new message Friday that last month's U.S.-sponsored Mideast peace conference was a "betrayal" of the Palestinians, the terror group's first reaction to the gathering. The audiotape by Osama bin Laden's deputy was the latest al-Qaeda attempt to rally Muslims using the widespread bitterness felt toward Israel over the Palestinian issue. Al-Zawahri focused his anger against Egypt, a top U.S. ally and the first Arab country to sign a peace deal with Israel. He called on Bedouin tribes in his native country to rise up against the rule of President Hosni Mubarak. "The Annapolis meeting was held to turn Palestine into a Jewish state," al-Zawahri said in the 20-minute audio recording posted on an Islamic militant Web forum.

The Egyptian-born al-Zawahri denounced Mubarak's government, saying it had turned Egypt into a "base to supply the Crusader war on Muslims and Islam." He denounced Egypt's sealing of its border with Gaza after the takeover of the Palestinian territory by the militant group Hamas and Cairo's support for the government of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
  • JJ Commentary: As we noted in last week’s report, the militant Islamists will not be appeased no matter how many concessions are made by Israel. Their only goal is Israel’s complete annihilation.

A New Babel

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — European Union leaders signed a new treaty on Thursday that would give the 27-nation bloc a long-term president and streamline its decision-making process. The treaty changes the way the bloc is run, with member states surrendering more powers to centralized rule in Brussels after years of resisting encroachment on their sovereign powers. The intention is to enable a swifter response to global issues. Among the treaty's provisions is the appointment of an EU president who can speak in the bloc's name, which should end the old American gripe of "who do you call when you want to speak to Europe?"

The so-called Lisbon Treaty, said by leaders to be a milestone in the history of the post-World War II bloc, will come into force after it is ratified by all member states. The aim is to complete that process by 2009. Providing for a new European boss who will serve a five-year term will allow the EU to scrap the current and often confusing system in which EU countries take turns at holding the presidency for six months at a time.
  • JJ Commentary: Global issues (warming, war, bird flu, Aids, etc.) will be the logical basis upon which the one-world government prophesied in Revelation 13 will be built – just like the tower of Babel.

Global Lunatics?

COPENHAGEN, Denmark — The head of the U.N. panel on climate change compared him to Hitler. Another leading scientist called him a parasite. A third described his latest book as a "stealth attack" on mankind. The list of allegations against Bjoern Lomborg, one of the world's leading climate change skeptics, almost reads like an indictment for war crimes. As Al Gore shows off his Nobel Peace Prize and world policymakers hammer out a new strategy for saving the planet, climate change contrarians say they have been elbowed out of the debate. They say mainstream scientists have stifled healthy intellectual discourse by demonizing dissenters as oil industry lobbyists or lunatics.

"I really think it reflects entirely on them," said Lomborg, a mild-mannered Danish statistician who says global warming isn't a big threat and that international treaties requiring sharp and immediate cuts in carbon emissions would cost a lot but do little good. Angry words and table-pounding, he said, only show "that your argument is not that strong." Lomborg accepts that the Earth is warming because of man, but says a changing climate, including the threat posed by rising sea levels to small island nations, is a less urgent problem than, for example, AIDS or malnutrition. His newly released book on climate change, Cool It, has also met sharp criticism. In a review in the Washington Post, Australian scientist Tim Flannery called it "a stealth attack on humanity's future."

Climate change experts counter that the contrarians are no longer relevant because the evidence now is overwhelming that man-made warming will have dangerous consequences if left unchecked. "Their claim that debate is being stifled has the same credibility as members of the Flat Earth Society complaining about the round Earth mafia," said NASA scientist Gavin Schmidt. That the planet is getting warmer is well-documented by scientific data, so skeptics now mainly challenge the majority view on the scope of the problem.
  • JJ Commentary: Even this “balanced” article misses the main point. Is the warming human caused or a natural cycle. We have had ice ages and warm periods in the past well before humans started emitting “greenhouse” gases. Regardless of the cause, it certainly fulfills Biblical end-time prophecies.

Spiritual Leadership

BOSTON (AP) — Republican Mitt Romney responded to questions about his faith by surging rival Mike Huckabee on Wednesday, declaring that "attacking someone's religion is really going too far." In an article to be published Sunday in The New York Times, Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?" Romney, vying to become the first Mormon elected president, declined to answer that question during an interview Wednesday, saying church leaders in Salt Lake City had already addressed the topic.
  • JJ Commentary: Huckabee is correct about Mormonism and it is indeed important. Spiritually speaking, the oil runs from the head down the entire body. If it is tainted oil, it pollutes the entire body.

Islamic Militancy

JERUSALEM, West Bank (AP) — The World Bank on Thursday endorsed a Palestinian reform plan that requires $5.6 billion in international aid over three years, but warned that the money will not stem economic decline in the West Bank and Gaza unless Israel also eases Palestinian movement and trade. The Palestinians will ask for the aid at a conference of donor countries next week in Paris. However, if Israel's closures remain in place, these large sums would at best slow a "downward cycle of crisis and dependence," the report said. By contrast, a considerable easing of Israeli restrictions could help the Palestinian private sector recover and lead to double-digit economic growth, the World Bank said.

Israeli defense officials have been reluctant to remove roadblocks and barriers, first set up after the outbreak of Israeli-Palestinian fighting in 2000 to keep attackers from Israel. Security officials say the moderate Palestinian government in the West Bank is still too weak to rein in militants effectively.
  • JJ Commentary: They will never be able to rein in the militants because they, and Islamic militants in other surrounding countries, will never give up trying to completely destroy Israel.

Grieving God

JERUSALEM (WND) – A top member of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's government today announced Israel "must" give up sections of Jerusalem for a future Palestinian state, even conceding the Palestinians can rename Jerusalem "to whatever they want." We must come today and say, friends, the Jewish neighborhoods, including Har Homa, will remain under Israeli sovereignty, and the Arab neighborhoods will be the Palestinian capital, which they will call Jerusalem or whatever they want," said Israeli Vice Premier Haim Ramon. Positions held by Ramon, a ranking member of Olmert's Kadima party, are largely considered to be reflective of Israeli government policy.

Ramon's statements follow last month's U.S.-sponsored Annapolis summit at which Olmert committed to aim at completing negotiations by next year to create a Palestinian state, with Israel expected to evacuate swaths of Jerusalem and the strategic West Bank. About 231,000 Arabs live in Jerusalem, mostly in eastern neighborhoods. The city has an estimated total population of 724,000.
  • JJ Commentary: This is so blasphemous that it defies comprehension. Jerusalem is God’s throne in this world, the future seat of Christ’s throne on earth. God’s heart must be sorely grieved.

Scientific Truth

SACRAMENTO (AP) — For all the praise and attention California has received for its landmark emissions-reduction plan, it's becoming clear that signing the legislation was the easy part. But as California lawmakers take up the nitty gritty task of implementing the law, they are haggling over what the 1990 benchmark even is and exactly who will be asked to make emission cuts. And industry representatives now warning that cutting production may be the only way they can meet its requirements. Air regulators believe California's output of greenhouse gases increased by at least 13% between 1990 and 2004, but they acknowledge their own estimates likely will need updating.

Al Gore says switching from incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescents can help save the planet from global warming. California, Canada and the European Union are so persuaded he's right, the three governments are in the process of banning the sale of incandescent light bulbs, following the trailblazing paths of Fidel Castro in Cuba and Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Even the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is on board, urging American citizens to do their part for the environment and switch to the twisty little CFL bulbs that last longer and use less electricity. But opposition is building among other environmentalists who say the threat of mercury contamination as a result of hundreds of millions of broken CFLS, each containing about 5 milligrams of the highly toxic substance, outweighs any benefits from a switch from Thomas Edison's trusty old invention
  • JJ Commentary: It’s so reassuring to know that science continues to be so reliable and exact.

Murderous Frenzy

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear "Muhammad." The protesters streamed out of mosques after Friday sermons, as pickups with loudspeakers blared messages against Gillian Gibbons, the teacher who was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in prison and deportation. She avoided the more serious punishment of 40 lashes. The mob called for Gibbons' execution, saying, "No tolerance: Execution," and "Kill her, kill her by firing squad."
  • JJ Commentary: This tells us all we need to know about Islam. Is it the one true God who whips them into a frenzied, murderous state? No, quite the opposite.

The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions

WASHINGTON — After last-minute negotiations on key details, the Bush administration formally announced Tuesday that it will host a Middle East peace conference next week involving nearly 50 different parties with a stake in the process. President Bush will speak at the conference Tuesday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. It "will be a launching point for negotiations leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state and the realization of Israeli-Palestinian peace," White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said. Bush also will meet Monday and Wednesday with two key principals: Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The Annapolis details were finalized after days of talks over everything from who would participate to the agenda.

The Israelis and Palestinians are divided on such issues as borders, the status of Jerusalem and the right of Palestinian refugees to return to Israeli land. n addition, Abbas must contend with the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza. Martin Indyk, a former U.S. ambassador to Israel under President Clinton and Bush, said the Palestinians are facing a civil war and that Hamas is prepared to attack Abbas for any concessions he might make at the Annapolis meeting. Olmert faces investigations into alleged corruption within his administration and his handling of the 2006 conflict between Hezbollah forces in Lebanon and the Israeli military. In July, Bush had called for the global meeting. He has said he would like to see a Palestinian state by the time his presidency ends in January 2009. White House spokeswoman Dana Perino noted that Bush is the first president to call for a separate Palestinian state, doing so back in 2002. "
  • JJ Commentary: While it always seems to be a good idea to seek peace, Israel and the Middle East are a different story. The implications here are of Biblical, apocalyptic proportions. Trading land for peace and submitting to a Palestinian state is in direct opposition to God’s will. This is ultimately a conflict between God and Allah, a counterfeit god. There never has been a Palestinian state nor a people group called Palestinians. The Romans were the first to refer to this general area as Palestine over 2000 years ago, which then included many different people groups including Arabs and Jews. The so-called Palestinian refugees have mostly been imported from other Muslim nations.

Another Sex Scandal Hits the Church

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — The 80-year-old leader of a suburban Atlanta megachurch is at the center of a sex scandal of biblical dimensions: He slept with his brother's wife and fathered a child by her. Members of Archbishop Earl Paulk's family stood at the pulpit of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Chapel Hill Harvester Church a few Sundays ago and revealed the secret exposed by a recent court-ordered paternity test. This is not the first — or even the second — sex scandal to engulf Paulk and the independent, charismatic church. But this time, he could be in trouble with the law for lying under oath about the affair.

The living proof of that lie is 34-year-old D.E. Paulk, who for years was known publicly as Earl Paulk's nephew. "I am so very sorry for the collateral damage it's caused our family and the families hurt by the removing of the veil that hid our humanity and our sinfulness," said D.E. Paulk, who received the mantle of head pastor a year and a half ago.
  • JJ commentary: Is it any wonder that unbelievers resist Christianity? Christians are still human and do sin. However, we are supposed to confess our sins and repent – not just when we’re caught!

Fudged Warming Data

WASHINGTON – Dire "global warming" predictions are based on bad science from the very start, says a veteran meteorologist who found surface temperatures recorded throughout the U.S. are done so with almost no regard to scientific standards. As a result of his shocking initial findings that temperature monitoring stations were constructed and placed without regard to achieving accurate recordings of natural temperatures, Anthony Watts set out to investigate the facilities used by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. What he found were temperature stations with sensors on the roofs of buildings, near air-condition-ing exhaust vents, in parking lots near hot automobiles, barbecues, chimneys and on pavement and concrete surfaces – all of which would lead to higher temperature recordings than properly established conditions.

To qualify as a properly maintained temperature station, sensors must be placed in elevated, slatted boxes on flat ground surrounded by a clear surface on a slope of less than 19 degrees with surrounding grass and vegetations ground cover of less than 10 centimeters high. The sensors must be located at least 100 meters from artificial heating or reflecting surfaces, such as buildings, concrete surfaces and parking lots. The vast majority of the stations surveyed to date fail to meet the prescribed standards. Watts' concerns about the temperatures being used to gauge whether global warming is actually taking place began when he read a 1997 study by the U.S. National Research Council that concluded the consistency and quality of temperature stations was "inadequate and deteriorating." Meanwhile, he learned, the U.S. Historical Climatological Network, responsible for maintaining the stations, was doing nothing to address the problems.
  • JJ Commentary: As usual, things are not always what they appear to be. It’s not surprising that the New World (Dis)Order folks would find a way to fudge the data.

Family Breakdown Equals Abuse

Many scholars and front-line caseworkers who monitor America's families see the abusive-boyfriend syndrome as part of a worrisome trend. These experts and observers note an ever-increasing share of America's children grow up in homes without both biological parents, and say the risk of child abuse is markedly higher in the non-traditional family structures. "This is the dark underbelly of cohabitation," said Brad Wilcox, a sociology professor at the University of Virginia. "Cohabitation has become quite common, and most people think, 'What's the harm?' The harm is we're increasing a pattern of relationships that's not good for children."

Children living in households with unrelated adults are nearly 50 times as likely to die of inflicted injuries as children living with two biological parents, according to a study of Missouri abuse reports published in the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2005. Children living in stepfamilies or with single parents are at higher risk of physical or sexual assault than children living with two biological or adoptive parents, according to several studies co-authored by David Finkelhor, director of the University of New Hampshire's Crimes Against Children Research Center. Girls whose parents divorce are at significantly higher risk of sexual assault, whether they live with their mother or their father, according to research by Robin Wilson, a family law professor at Washington and Lee University.
  • JJ Commentary: And are we surprised?? We’ve been warning about the ill effects of the breakdown in families for years. The researchers are just now catching on.

Dollar Demise

LONDON – The dollar could collapse if Opec officially admits considering changing the pricing of oil into alternative currencies such as the euro, the Saudi Arabian foreign minister has warned. Prince Saud Al-Faisal was overheard ruling out a proposal from Iran and Venezuela to discuss pricing crude in a private meeting at the oil cartel's conference. In an embarrassing blunder at the meeting in Riyadh, ministers' microphones were not cut off during a key closed meeting, and Prince Al-Faisal was heard saying: "My feeling is that the mere mention that the Opec countries are studying the issue of the dollar is itself going to have an impact that endangers the interests of the countries. "There will be journalists who will seize on this point and we don't want the dollar to collapse instead of doing something good for Opec."

Iran and Venezuela have argued that the meeting's final communique should voice concern about the level of the dollar, which has recently fallen to new record lows against the euro. They are pushing for oil to be denominated against a basket of currencies.
  • JJ Commentary: So what does this mean for the good ‘ol USA? More of our sovereignty erodes and we lose our “last remaining superpower” status just as the New World (Dis)Order folks desire.

Military Control

New federal legislation shows the Bush administration has begun systematically putting in place authorization for the president to federalize the National Guard and use the U.S. military in domestic emergency situations. A provision in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (H.R. 1585) requires the secretary of defense to prepare and submit to Congress by March 1, 2008, and each subsequent March 1 a plan to coordinate the use of the National Guard and members of the Armed Forces on active duty when responding to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters.

Gen. Victor E. "Gene" Renuart, the commander of USNORTHCOM says he's prepared to obey any order from the president to deploy U.S. troops on American soil in response to a domestic emergency. USNORTHCOM was established in 2002 with responsibility for a "homeland defense" area that includes the U.S., Canada, Mexico, parts of the Caribbean and waters in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans contiguous to the U.S.
  • JJ Commentary: This is a furtherance of the New World (Dis)Order’s objectives to establish greater control through “controlled chaos” (i.e. real or perceived emergencies).

Tolerance of All - Except Christianity

A senior Muslim cleric who is a prominent justifier of suicide bombings met last week with senators and congressmen and consulted last month with Secretary of State Condoleezza RiceSheik Taysir Tamimi, chief Palestinian justice, also claimed in a recently released book for which he was interviewed that the Torah was "falsified," Jewish and Christian history were "invented," the Jewish Temples never existed and the Al Aqsa Mosque was built by angels. "I am very glad to have this occasion to speak to Congress and the Senate and have access to groups and individuals that form American policy," said Tamimi in a statement.

"I emphasized in the meetings the importance of religious coexistence and that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot be solved without creating a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," the he said. "I emphasized in the meetings the importance of religious coexistence and that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot be solved without creating a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," the he said. Tamimi is considered the second most important Palestinian cleric after Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. He met in Washington last week with a slew of lawmakers as part of a new interfaith religious organization – the Council for Religious Institutions in the Holy Land – formed with the stated purpose of promoting Israeli-Palestinian peace.
  • JJ Commentary: Can you imagine the howling protests if a Christian leader was given similar access to Congress and said that Muhammad was a madman?

Playing God

LONDON (AP) — The international community faces a stark choice: outlaw human cloning or prepare for the creation of cloned humans, U.N. researchers said Saturday. Previous attempts to reach a binding worldwide treaty foundered over divisions on whether to outlaw all cloning or permit cloning of cells for research. The best solution may be to ban human cloning, but to allow countries to conduct strictly controlled therapeutic research, including stem cell research, according to the report from the Japan-based United Nations University Institute for Advanced Studies.

Almost all countries oppose human cloning and more than 50 nations have introduced laws banning it. But lack of binding global legislation gives scientists an opening to create human clones in countries where bans do not exist. "Failure to outlaw reproductive cloning means it is just a matter of time until cloned individuals share the planet," said Brendan Tobin, a human rights lawyer who co-authored the report.
  • JJ Commentary: This is yet another end-time reason why Jesus will be coming back soon to “restore all things” before they get too far out of control.

Islamic Treason

A Washington, D.C., imam states explicitly on the website for his organization that he is part of a movement working toward replacement of the U.S. government with "the Islamic State of North America" by 2050. With branches in Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento and Philadelphia, the group As-Sabiqun – or the Vanguard – is under the leadership of Abdul Alim Musa in the nation's capital. Musa's declaration of his intention to help lead a takeover of America was highlighted by noted Islam observer Robert Spencer on his website Jihad Watch.

Musa launched the group in the early 1990s at the Al-Islam mosque in Philadelphia. His group says it is influenced by the writings and life work of Muslim thinkers and leaders such as Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb and Iranian revolutionary Ayatollah Khomenei. The writings of Al-Banna and Qutb figured prominently in al-Qaida's formation. The groups says it does not "advocate participation in the American political process as an ideal method for advancing Islamic issues in the U.S.; instead, it believes in a strong and active outreach to the people of the U.S."
  • JJ Commentary: Hmmm. Religious freedom, yes. Replace the government with an Islamic State? Sounds kinda treasonous to me.

Satan Assaults Christ(mas)

Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development officials have announced a ban on any decorations in HUD housing complexes that mention Jesus or represent religion for the Christmas season, and the American Family Association has responded with a petition drive to overturn the decision. The AFA has set up a link to allow constituents to send e-mails to the HUD secretary or President Bush expressing their objections to the policy. The issue arose at the Plant City Living Center in Plant City, Fla., where 85-year-old Mrs. Arnold was told that federal law now prohibits her from displaying anything that references religion – words, decorations and the like – in the common area of her apartment building, a HUD facility.

The grandmother told AFA she was instructed that even an angel decoration would be disallowed by the ban, which makes her think of the restrictions in Germany during World War II. According to the center, HUD has issued a directive banning "any religious symbols or religious words associated with Christmas," which effectively prevents Mrs. Arnold from placing a small Christmas tree outside her door if it contains any religious symbols or words.
  • JJ Commentary: Satan’s assault against Christ(mas) continues to be aided and abetted by our very own government.

Shameful Sell-out

WASHINGTON (AP) — Televangelist Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition, endorsed Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday. The former New York mayor backs abortion rights and gay rights, positions that put him in conflict with conservative GOP orthodoxy, and has been trying to persuade evangelical conservatives like Robertson to overlook their differences on those issues. Robertson made no mention of his differences with Giuliani on social issues in Wednesday's statement.
  • JJ Commentary: This is an extraordinary sell-out by one of our Christian leaders in support of a pro-abortion, pro-gay rights candidate. It is shameful and inexcusable.

Into The Cesspool

The governing council in Montgomery County, Md., is considering adopting an "open doors" policy to its public restrooms, locker rooms and other facilities to meet the demands of a transgender "non-discrimination" plan, which would allow men into women's lockers and vice versa, a support group reports. According to notes from city council meetings, Sprigg said, the only requirement will be that the person using the public facilities, including showers and locker rooms, be of the gender they present in public. The county plan, Bill 23-07, specifically would augment the state's non-discrimination plan by adding "gender identity" as a protected class.

In addition to prohibiting discrimination in the areas of employment and housing, Bill 23-07 adds 'public accommodation' to the list, causing many to question the judgment of allowing men who merely claim they feel female to have complete access to women's restrooms, showers and locker rooms in schools, and other places of public accommodation such as health clubs, swimming pools, and store dressing rooms.
  • JJ Commentary: Sick, sick, sick. The so-called “homosexual agenda” is leading us into a cesspool of perversion.

No More Mom & Dad

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose. "We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute. "With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat the plans. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms. Analysts have warned that schools across the nation will be impacted by the decision, since textbook publishers must cater to their largest purchaser, which often is California, and they will be unlikely to go to the expense of having a separate edition for other states.

A call is being issued to Christians who have been engaged in the culture wars in California's schools to abandon the system, after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law a ban on "discriminatory bias" against homosexuals and others with alternative sexual lifestyles. "We're calling upon every California parent to pull their child out of California's public school system," Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families. "The so-called 'public schools' are no longer a safe emotional environment for children.”
  • JJ Commentary: This affront to God's design of family structure will surely call a curse down upon California.

End-Time Alignment Forms

RUSSIA: The barely reported highlight of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Tehran for the Caspian Sea summit last week was a key face-to-face meeting with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. A high-level diplomatic source in Tehran tells Asia Times Online that essentially Putin and the Supreme Leader have agreed on a plan to nullify the George W Bush administration's relentless drive towards launching a preemptive attack, perhaps a tactical nuclear strike, against Iran. An American attack on Iran will be viewed by Moscow as an attack on Russia.
  • JJ Commentary: The Bible prophesies that Russian will align itself with the former Persian and Arab countries against Israel in the latter days. (Ezekiel 38,39 where “Rosh” is Russia in the NKJV).

Morality Decline Accelerates

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Pupils at a city middle school will be able to get birth control pills and patches at their student health center after the local school board approved the proposal Wednesday evening. The plan, offered by city health officials, makes King Middle School the first middle school in Maine to make a full range of contraception available to students in grades 6 through 8, according to the state Department of Health and Human Services. There are no national figures on how many middle schools, where most students range in age from 11 to 13, provide such services. About one-fourth of student health centers that serve at least one grade of adolescents 11 and older dispense some form of contraception.

Opponents cited religious and health objections. Diane Miller said she felt the plan was against religion and against God. A supporter, Richard Verrier, said it's not enough to depend on parents to protect their children because there may be students who can't discuss things with their parents.
  • JJ Commentary: In a misguided attempt to prevent unwanted pregnancies in children, schools now provide encouragement for sexual experimentation in children as young as 11 years of age. Satan is quite pleased. The moral slide in America quickens with every passing day.

Slicing Up God's Heart

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told Palestinian officials yesterday she would pressure Israel against initiating any Jewish construction in eastern sections of Jerusalem, a senior Palestinian negotiator involved in talks with Rice told WND. The Palestinian negotiator stated Rice singled out Jerusalem areas as becoming part of a future Palestinian state and told his negotiating team she would publicly blame Israel for the failure of next month's U.S.-sponsored summit slated to be held in Maryland if the Jewish state didn't agree to evacuate eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods.
  • JJ Commentary: Rice and the Bush Administration are so far out of line with God’s will for Israel and Jerusalem that it will surely bring down curses on the good old USA.

One World Justice

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton says the Bush administration is caving in to global opinion by siding with Mexico and the International Court of Justice in their attempt to overturn the death penalty of an illegal alien convicted of raping and murdering two teenage girls. It's "a bad mistake, but one of many mistakes, I'm sad to say, the administration has made recently," Bolton said. Bolton insisted the U.S. has no obligation to the world court in this case. "It is ridiculous," he said. "The Vienna Convention on consular relations does not create rights personal to the individual. It's a state-to-state agreement."

U.S. lawmakers who signed the treaty did not believe they were creating a way for criminals on death row to "get around our judicial system," Bolton explained. Supporters of the administration on this issue contend the U.S. must back the world court in order to protect Americans abroad.
  • JJ Commentary: Of course President Bush is caving in to the International Court because he is a card-carrying member of the New World (Dis)Order.

International Predominance

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case Wednesday in which the Bush administration will seek to overturn the death penalty of a convicted rapist-murderer at the behest of the International Court of Justice. Jose Medellin confessed in 1993 to participating in the rape and murder of two Houston teenagers. Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Pena were sodomized and strangled with their shoe laces. Medellin and four others were convicted of capital murder and sent to Texas' death row. A juvenile court sentenced Medellin's younger brother, who was 14 at the time, to 40 years in prison.

The intervention in the case by the Bush administration comes after the International Court of Justice found Medellin was not informed of his right to contact the Mexican Consulate for legal assistance. That, according to the Hague, was a violation of a 1963 treaty known as the Vienna Convention. Medellin v. Texas will be argued Wednesday and could determine the fate of Medellin and 50 other Mexican killers on death rows in the United States, including more than a dozen in Texas. All of them say they were not told of their right to contact Mexico for legal help.
  • JJ Commentary: Just as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have assumed predominance in global finance, so too does the International Court of Justice and the World Court seek to take precedence over national courts – all part of the New World (Dis)Order’s plans for global governance.

Israeli Blasphemy

JERUSALEM (AP) - Senior Israeli officials expressed support Monday for the transfer of Arab parts of Jerusalem to Palestinian control, offering a concession on one of the most contentious issues in the Mideast conflict. The offer appeared to fall short of Palestinian calls for a full Israeli withdrawal from key areas of the holy city. The officials spoke as Israeli and Palestinian negotiators were to begin talks in Jerusalem to work out a joint document they hope to issue at a U.S.-sponsored peace conference next month. The meetings were closed.

Ahead of the talks, a confidant of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he has proposed in recent talks with Palestinian officials to turn over areas of east Jerusalem to the Palestinians. The Palestinians claim east Jerusalem, which Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war, as capital of a future independent state.

  • JJ Commentary: If Israel were to forsake even parts of Jerusalem, it would break Yahweh’s heart and call down a curse upon His chosen people such as they have never seen before – all in sync with end-time prophecy.

No Voting on God's Will

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Millions of Iranians attended nationwide rallies Friday in support of the Palestinians, while the country's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Israel's continued existence was an "insult to human dignity." "The occupation of Palestine is not limited to one land. The Zionist issue is now a global issue." Ahmadinejad's remarks came as millions of Iranians held rallies across Iran to protest Israel's continued hold on Jerusalem, the city where Muslims believe Islam's Prophet Mohammed began his journey to heaven. The demonstrations for "Al-Quds Day" — Al-Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem — also spilled over into anti-American protests because of U.S. support for Israel.

According to the regime's mouthpiece, the president suggested holding a referendum on the transfer of Israel's Jews to Europe, Canada or Alaska. "Let all Palestinians including Muslims, Christians and the Jews attend the referendum," he added.
  • JJ Commentary: God’s will is not subject to a vote. This episode is part of the end-time showdown between Christ and anti-Christ, between Yahweh and Allah, between the one true God and Satan.

Mixed Signals on Immigration

WASHINGTON (AP) — Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Monday defended the construction of a fence along the southwest border, saying it's actually better for the environment than what happens when people illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico line. "Illegal migrants really degrade the environment. I've seen pictures of human waste, garbage, discarded bottles and other human artifact in pristine areas," Chertoff said in a telephone interview with the Associated Press. To curb illegal immigration, the U.S. government plans to complete 370 miles of fencing and put 200 miles of vehicle barriers on the southwest border by the end of 2008. But this has brought complaints that the fence and barriers are harmful to the environment. Chertoff said the department exceeded its goal to complete 150 miles of fencing along the Mexican border by the end of the 2007 fiscal year, Sept. 30th.

Illegal immigrants are getting driver's licenses and identification cards in cities and states that are bucking the national trend to take official documents and public benefits away from them. New Haven, Conn., began issuing municipal ID cards in July to all residents, including illegal immigrants. New York will join eight other states in giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, starting in December. Gov. Eliot Spitzer "believes it's important to bring a significant population in New York state out of the shadows … (and) allow them to participate in the economy," Motor Vehicles Commissioner David Swarts says.
  • JJ Commentary: With such mixed signals, our illegal immigration problem will never get resolved, to the delight of the New World (Dis)Order folks who want to establish the North American Union.

Scare Tactics

A new survey released this week reports that 50% of Americans say they're personally worried about global warming. The survey was conducted in July by Yale University, Gallup and the ClearVision Institute. The survey also found that 62% of those polled think that life on Earth will continue without major disruptions only if society takes immediate and drastic action to reduce global warming, while 68% support a new international treaty requiring the USA to cut its emissions of carbon dioxide 90% by the year 2050. Also, 40% report that a presidential candidate’s position on the issue will strongly influence how they vote.

"One of the most surprising findings was the growing sense of urgency," said Anthony Leiserowitz, director of the Yale Project on Climate Change and the study’s principal investigator. "Nearly half of Americans now believe that global warming is either already having dangerous impacts on people around the world or will in the next 10 years -- a 20-percentage-point increase since 2004. These results indicate a sea change in public opinion."
  • JJ Commentary: Surprising? Not with the constant drumbeat of the media shaping public opinion. The New World (Dis)Order folks want global issues that require global solutions leading to global governance. There is still no concrete evidence that the warming is human caused as opposed to being another of nature’s ongoing cycles.

Dollar Becoming an Endangered Species

WASHINGTON – The hottest selling book in China right now is called "Currency Wars," which makes the case that the U.S. Federal Reserve is a puppet of the Rothschilds banking dynasty and it has persuaded some top officials Beijing should resist America's demands to appreciate its own undervalued currency, the yuan. This might not be news of concern to most Americans if the U.S. dollar were not in precipitous free-fall, having reached record laws against the euro yesterday. But the American dollar's fate is hardly in the hands of the Chinese alone. Other foreign parties suspected of participating in a new "Currency Cold War" are Iran, Russia and Venezuela.

What would it mean if China ever threw its economic weight around by dumping dollars in a major way? Suffice it to say it is referred to in some quarters as China's financial "nuclear option," because it would be the economic equivalent of detonating a thermonuclear weapon in the world's financial markets. Diane Francis, a financial reporter for the National Post in Canada, says it plainly and boldly: "There is a Currency Cold War being waged by Russia, Iran and various allies such as Venezuela." The grand strategy being engineered by Vladimir Putin, she writes, is to force the use of euros as the international monetary standard.”
  • JJ Commentary: This is a key strategy of the New World (Dis)Order folks as they move inexorably toward the one-world government prophesied in Revelation 13.

Greed Triumphs Once Again

BAGHDAD (AP) — Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Friday rejected a U.S. Senate proposal calling for the decentralization of Iraq's government and giving more control to the country's ethnically divided regions, calling it a "catastrophe." The measure, whose primary sponsors included presidential hopeful Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., calls for Iraq to be divided into federal regions for the country's Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish communities in a power-sharing agreement similar to Bosnia in the 1990s.

Iraq's constitution lays down a federal system, allowing Shiites in the south and Kurds in the north to set up regions with considerable autonomous powers. But Iraq's turmoil has been fueled by the deep divisions among politicians over the details of how it work, including the division of lucrative oil resources. Many Shiite and Kurdish leaders are eager to implement the provisions. But the Sunni Arab minority fears being left in an impoverished central zone without resources.
  • JJ Commentary: In the end, greed usually triumphs over nationalism, religion and blood.

Forked Tongue?

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said his government was completely committed to a U.S.-proposed Mideast peace conference and vowed that the "olive branch of peace" would not fall from his hands. "Today, there is not the slightest obstacle to promoting the holding of (the upcoming) peace meeting, in particular because our brother Arab countries have demonstrated through the Arab Peace Initiative their true readiness to bring about a just, lasting and comprehensive peace," Abbas said, referring to the Arab proposal that offers peace in exchange for land.

He reiterated his government's position that the key to solving the decades-old conflict between Israel and the Palestinians lay in directly addressing the divisive "final status" issues including Palestinian statehood, the status of Jerusalem and right of return for refugees.
  • JJ Commentary: Whether Abbas is sincere or duplicitous, the “final” issue is Islam’s inherent desire to completely destroy Israel.

Liberal Bias Exposed

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Times' ombudsman says the newspaper violated its standards when it gave the liberal activist group MoveOn.org a $77,508 price break on a full-page advertisement targeting Gen. David H. Petraeus. The organization paid $64,575, instead of the standard $142,083, for the ad questioning the war in Iraq, public editor Clark Hoyt wrote in a column published Sunday. Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis told Hoyt that an advertising sales representative shouldn't have agreed to the discounted price. "We made a mistake," she told Hoyt..

The ad also seemed to disregard internal advertising standards that ban ads involving attacks of a personal nature, Hoyt wrote. MoveOn.org said in a statement it would wire the difference in the ad rates to the Times. The ad's headline — "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" — questioned his honesty and said he was "constantly at war with the facts" in giving positive assessments of the war. "The ad infuriated conservatives, dismayed many Democrats and ignited charges that the liberal Times aided its friends at MoveOn.org with a steep discount in the price paid to publish its message," Hoyt wrote.
  • JJ Commentary: This is just the tip of the iceberg in what the liberal-controlled media do behind the scenes to promote their beliefs at the expense of journalistic neutrality and integrity.

Currency Disorder

Investors dumped dollars yesterday, sending the euro to a record high and putting the American currency at par with the Canadian dollar for the first time in more than 30 years. While the dollar has generally been drifting down against both currencies, along with the British pound, for much of this decade, its fall has gathered pace in recent weeks as traders foresee a slowing American economy while expecting more robust growth overseas. The Federal Reserve’s decision this week to cut interest rates put further pressure on the dollar by making investment returns in other countries comparatively more lucrative.

As American assets become cheaper to buyers overseas, foreigners may step up their purchase of businesses and land here, creating political and cultural tensions. Yesterday, a stock exchange from Dubai, on the Persian Gulf, announced plans to take a sizable stake in Nasdaq, drawing a mixed response in Washington. And a prominent private equity firm, the Carlyle Group, sold a minority stake to the Abu Dhabi government. The impact of the falling dollar is rippling through the world and American economies in numerous ways. It will give an edge to American manufacturers and has already helped lift exports by more than 11 percent in the first eight months of the year. Businesses with large foreign operations can expect a lift in profits when they convert their overseas earnings into dollars. On the other side of the equation, the decline in the American currency is helping push up commodity prices, most of which are denominated in dollars, and kindling fears that inflation could rise.
  • JJ Commentary: It is the New World (Dis)Order’s goal to minimize nationalism, particularly the last remaining superpower, and they already control enough of the world’s finances to do so.

Sinking Sovereignty

The U.S. is poised to turn much of its authority on the high seas over to international arbiters by ratifying a long-controversial United Nations sea treaty. Approval of the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), a 25-year-old international treaty regulating use of the world’s oceans, is steaming full speed ahead in the Senate, where committee hearings are set to begin Sept. 27. The full Senate is likely to ratify the treaty -- which would link U.S. naval actions to those of 155 other member nations -- by year's end.

For decades, critics have derided the 182-page Law of the Sea pact as a threat to U.S. sovereignty and naval independence. They add that it would create a massive new U.N. bureaucracy (the International Seabed Authority); would give environmentalists a back door to greater regulation; and would hinder the U.S. military's efforts to capture terrorists on the high seas. “This is nothing less than a raid on our sovereignty,” Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., warns Newsmax. “I objected to it when it resurfaced in 2004, and I object to it now as I see it sneaking up on us again. What is this obsession we have for surrendering our jurisdiction to this international body? Nobody can give me a reasonable answer.”

Despite those concerns, however, support for the measure has never been stronger. The treaty has garnered a letter of support from President Bush, favorable testimony from the Navy and Coast Guard, and the backing of at least a dozen oil, gas, and environmental groups.
  • JJ Commentary: This is just another example of how President Bush is selling out America to the New World (Dis)Order folks.

Arabs Gone Wild

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Malnutrition is increasing in Sudan's violence-wracked Darfur region along with lawlessness and the number of people fleeing their homes, a senior U.N. official said. The humanitarian operation in Darfur remains the largest in the world — as it has been for the past three years — with 4 million people now dependent on humanitarian assistance as a consequence of the protracted conflict, rising tension and increasing lawlessness. 18 spot surveys by U.N. agencies and non-governmental organizations in the three Darfur provinces all found that for the first time in three years the number of malnutrition cases has increased beyond the emergency threshold of 15% to "well over 17% being detected in some areas.

Some of the same Arab tribes accused of massacring civilians in the Darfur region of Sudan are now unleashing their considerable firepower against one another in a battle over the spoils of war that is killing hundreds of people and displacing tens of thousands. In the past several months, the Terjem and the Mahria, heavily armed Arab tribes that United Nations officials said raped and pillaged together as part of the region’s notorious janjaweed militias, have squared off in South Darfur, fighting from pickup trucks and the backs of camels. They are raiding each other’s villages, according to aid workers and the fighters themselves, and scattering Arab tribesmen into the same kinds of displacement camps that still house some of their earlier victims.

Temple Proof

JERUSALEM – Islamic authorities using heavy machinery to dig on the Temple Mount – Judaism's holiest site – have been caught red-handed destroying Temple-era antiquities and what's believed to be a section of an outer wall of the Second Jewish Temple. WND obtained a photograph of a massive trench the Waqf, the Muslim custodians of the Temple Mount, have been blasting around the periphery of the holy site purportedly to replace 40-year-old electrical cables for mosques on the Mount. The Waqf has steadfastly denied they found or destroyed any Jewish antiquities during their dig. The picture, which was obtained in conjunction with Israel's Temple Institute, shows concrete slabs broken by Waqf bulldozers and what appears to be a chopped up carved stone from Jewish Temple-era antiquity.

Eilat Mazar, considered one of the most prominent Temple Mount archaeologists, analyzed the photo and told WND the damaged stone displays elements of the second Temple era and might be part of a Jewish Temple wall Israeli archeologists charge the Waqf found and has been attempting to destroy. If authenticated, the wall would be one of the most important Temple Mount archaeological discoveries in recent history. "It certainly looks like Second Temple antiquity and could very well be part of a Second Temple courtyard wall," Mazer said.
  • JJ Commentary: Islamic leaders do not want anything that supports Israel’s historical and Biblical claims to Jerusalem and the Temple to come to the light.

Sovereignty Surrendered

The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America summit in Canada released a plan that established U.N. law along with regulations by the World Trade Organization and World Health Organization as supreme over U.S. law and set the stage for militarizing the management of continental health emergencies. The "North American Plan for Avian & Pandemic Influenza" was finalized at the SPP summit last week in Montebello, Quebec. With virtually no media attention, in 2005 President Bush shifted U.S. policy on avian flu and pandemic influenza, placing the country under international guidelines not specifically determined by domestic agencies.

The new International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Influenza was designed to supersede an earlier November 2005 Homeland Security report that called for a U.S. national strategy that would be coordinated by the Departments of Homeland Security, Health and Agriculture. The 2005 plan, operative until Bush announced the International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Influenza, directed the State Department to work with the WHO and U.N., but it does not mention that international health controls are to be considered controlling over relevant U.S. statutes or authorities. Under the International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Influenza, Bush agreed the U.S. would work through the U.N. system influenza coordinator to develop a continental emergency response plan operating through authorities under the WTO, North American Free Trade Agreement and the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization.

Islamic Dictatorship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — President Bush raised a new defense of his Iraq policy Wednesday, saying the Middle East has the potential to create democracies like those that arose in Japan and South Korea if the United States perseveres. "The hard work we are doing in the Middle East can have the same results we've seen in Asia and elsewhere, if we show the same perseverance and the same sense of purpose," Bush said. Bush's speeches Wednesday and next week are designed to "provide broader context" for the "long-term" debate over future Iraq policy, said presidential counselor Ed Gillespie. Next week's speech will focus on the Middle East, he said.
  • JJ Commentary: As with many analogies, this one fails due to one primary difference – Islamic government does not lend itself to democracy, but is instead, by definition, dictatorial.

Finally, Global Sensibility

A major new scientific study concludes the impact of carbon dioxide emissions on worldwide temperatures is largely irrelevant, prompting one veteran meteorologist to quip, "You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling carbon dioxide." That comment comes from Reid Bryson, founding chairman of the Department of Meteorology at the University of Wisconsin, who said the temperature of the earth is increasing, but that it's got nothing to do with what man is doing. "Of course it's going up. It has gone up since the early 1800s, before the Industrial Revolution, because we're coming out of the Little Ice Age, not because we're putting more carbon dioxide into the air." The project, called "Heat Capacity, Time Constant, and Sensitivity of Earth's Climate System," was authored by Brookhaven National lab scientist Stephen Schwartz.

"Effectively, this (new study) means that the global economy will spend trillions of dollars trying to avoid a warming of (about) 1.0 K by 2100 A.D.," Wilson wrote in a note to the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Sunday. He was referring to the massive expenditures that would be required under such treaties as the Kyoto Protocol. Another leader, Ivy League geologist Robert Giegengack, chairman of the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at the University of Pennsylvania, said he doesn't even consider global warming among the top 10 environmental problems.
  • JJ Commentary: A reminder: global warming is being used by the New World (Dis)Order to create a need for the one-world government that they (and Satan) desire as prophesied in Revelation 13:11-17

The "Three Amigos" Conspiracy

OTTAWA — Protesters greeted President Bush and the leaders of Canada and Mexico on Monday as the three men got together to discuss border security, emergency response, trade and other economic issues. Several hundred people demonstrated outside the log-cabin resort in Montebello where Bush, Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper convened for the North American Leaders' Summit, dubbed the "Three Amigos" summit. Demonstrators' signs opposed the Iraq war and cited other causes. One said, "Say No To Americanada," a reference to an agenda focused on standardizing regulations to improve the flow of commerce throughout North America.

"This meeting is a reaffirmation of the commitment that all three of these countries have to creating a secure and prosperous continent," White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said. He cautioned the summit was unlikely to yield "any major announcements."
  • JJ Commentary: Of course there will be no major announcements. The North American Union is being created in secrecy with executive orders and agreements that have only come to light through the Freedom of Information process.

Palestinian Myth

JERUSALEM -- Palestinian negotiators drafting an agreement behind the scenes with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office have made clear they will not accept any final peace deal with Israel unless the Jewish state forfeits the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site. A chief Palestinian negotiator said yesterday, "there can be no agreement with Israel unless we get complete sovereignty of the Mount. Once Palestinian control over the [Temple Mount] is fixed, then we will make assurances for Jewish visits to the site."

The chief negotiator said aides from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization have been hammering out the parameters of a final status agreement for presentation in November at a U.S.-backed international summit regarding the Middle East. Issues already discussed between Israel and the Palestinians reportedly include the division of parts of Jerusalem and debates regarding permanent borders between Israel and the PA.
  • JJ Commentary: Did you know that there never has been a Palestinian state? Did you know that Jews are also Palestinians? An area once called Philistine was renamed Palestine under Roman occupation. At that time there were many indigenous people in the area. The myth of Palestine refugees and a Palestinian state was cooked up by the Arabs over 50 years ago as a negotiating ploy.

Corruption Impedes Terrorist Investigations

WASHINGTON (AP) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents ignored or dropped leads and at times entire cases involving terrorist activities because of disputes with the FBI, says a report by federal officials released Monday. In examining 10 cases that began at ICE and were taken over by the FBI, the inspectors general of the Homeland Security and the Justice departments found that seven suffered from lack of cooperation until they were taken over by the Joint Terrorism Task Forces, which the FBI controls. The report cited delays and refusals by the FBI involving investigative actions that needed court approval, which led ICE agents to avoid leads and cases that would have required FBI involvement. "We were ... extremely troubled that ICE agents would say that their agents declined to undertake a case of potential national security significance for such petty reasons," the inspectors general wrote.

North American Union Progressing

President Bush will interrupt his summer vacation in Crawford, Texas, next week to attend the third summit meeting of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP, slated for Aug. 20 and 21 in Montebello, Quebec, at the five-star Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello resort. Bush will meet with Mexico's President Felipe Calderon and Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the event. The meeting has been hidden in a cloud of secrecy until World Net Daily obtained from an Access to Information Act request a previously unreleased copy of a government report detailing agenda plans for the third SPP summit.

The memo clearly states at center stage in the Montebello SPP summit will be recommendations by the North American Competitiveness Council, regarding promoting North American competitiveness for multinational corporations through "integrating" and "harmonizing" regulations between Mexico, Canada and the U.S. As many as 10,000 protesters are expected to be in Quebec to oppose the meeting. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada's national police force, and the Sûreté du Québec, the state police, plan to maintain a 25-kilometer protest-free zone around the Montebello resort where the meeting is to be held.
  • JJ Commentary: The march toward the North American Union and the one-world government continues steadily and surely onward.
